I still have my doubts, though, that we might be over-estimating the computer literacy levels of our users. I know its fashionable to label the digital divide a myth in the developed world, but my experience tells me it still exists. It is just that the divide is no longer so much about resources as it is about skills and affinity with the electronic world. Using Facebook and other social networking sites does not necessarily mean a person has a wide range of computer skills.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10205631509718005513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1473657334092566616.post-35003452368609043942008-11-20T18:16:00.000-08:002008-11-20T18:16:00.000-08:00Feedback from Spotlight"Involving the library staf...Feedback from Spotlight<BR/><BR/>"Involving the library staff in the design and support of the tutorials has been one of the best learning experiences I have had in the 11 years lecturing at Otago."Simon Harthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14668165663431270137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1473657334092566616.post-62518983424552221742008-10-17T15:55:00.000-07:002008-10-17T15:55:00.000-07:00following your blog and have enjoyed your posts. To think our communities consider alternatives is naive. Chat amongst yourself Google's hegemony has taken hold. I am asking that we listen to these emerging (read: new, fresh, developing) voices going beyond the danger of our taken for grantedness. I was put in mind of the Nonaka's Knowledge Spiral e.g. http://www.nwlink.com/~Donclark/history_knowledge/nonaka.html (just to grab the top google link when I search on it ;-) which has got the internalisation step between combination and socialisation. In some ways this has a level of creation all the way round - acknowledging that people bring knowledge they have been gathering/mulling over themselves, out of their experience.Sheila Webberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09929764583069948543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1473657334092566616.post-48463496993204201462008-07-17T21:54:00.000-07:002008-07-17T21:54:00.000-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10205631509718005513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1473657334092566616.post-29698785842910910532008-06-29T18:43:00.000-07:002008-06-29T18:43:00.000-07:00Yep - check out Cmap Tools.
